Hired and trained new Outreach Coordinators for Latino and Chinese communities and promoted from within for Bayview and Program Manager positions
Developed thriving PPS Latino and Chinese Parent Clubs with combined active participants of 150+ with similar effort starting in Bayview
Launched first PPS Latino Parent Day with biggest PPS event attendance of 300
Became a fully tri-lingual organization in our communications materials
Developed and trained new public school parent leaders.
Developed “PPS Next Steps for Parents” leadership training and graduated 80 English, Spanish and Cantonese-speaking parents in Spring 2007
Initiated, developed and piloted “School Governance for Parents” School Site Council training program with SFUSD which launched in Fall 2007
Trained over 600 Spanish and Cantonese speakers on “ELAC Made Easy” (English Learner Advisory Committees)
PPS members and staff represented in numerous district and city committees to provide parent and public school perspective to policies that affect children, families and youth
Develop stronger communications and networking to better serve all public school parents.
Attained attendance of over 10,000+ parents in over 100 PPS parent-to-parent events, trainings, and workshops during the 2006-08 school year
PPS email listserve quadrupled to over 350 members
Launched tri-lingual “Power of Parents” newsletter written by and for parents and distributed over 3000 copies
Enhanced information and features available on the PPS website with the launch of the redesigned ppssf.org
Launched new events, including a Back-to-School kickoff event in the Fall which now has been incorporated into the SFUSD Fall Parent Convention.
