Upcoming SFUSD Board Meetings

The SFUSD Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday. The Ad Hoc Committee on Personnel Matters/Labor Relations and Affordability meets Thursday.

Board of Education Meeting: Tuesday April 25 @ 6PM in the Board Room

Highlight: The board will recognize the state champion Mission HS basketball team and vote on supporting a new school in Mission Bay at the meeting. Other things:

  • The Quality Teacher and Education Act oversight committee will report.
  • The following resolution is up for a vote:
    • Resolution supporting construction of a new school in the Mission Bay neighborhood. A presentation with more details about the proposed site is here.
  • An update will be given on SFUSD's progress in implementing the Safe and Supportive Schools policy. This policy was adopted by board resolution in 2014 and was aimed at extending positive behavioral supports, reducing suspension, increasing instructional time and reducing racial disparities in discipline. Recent data will be presented.

Highlight: The board will hear an update on teacher/staff hiring for next year and an update on the parcel tax
