Agenda for the meeting here
Topics to be discussed include:
- A resolution introduced by Commissioner Haney last spring providing support and services to homeless children youth and families.
- It is estimated that one in 25 students in SFUSD is homeless
- This resolution would require the district to take several actions to support the unique needs of these students, including: identifying a liaison to assure federal rights of homeless students are being met; yearly reporting on outcomes specific to homeless youth; consideration of homeless student population in district/site budgeting process.
- This resolution received a positive recommendation from the Curriculum and Program Committee in June
- A resolution introduced by Commissioners Mendoza-McDonnell and Haney in support of carbon neutral schools.
- Would seek to phase out SFUSD's use of fossil fuels by 2040 and sets targets towards that goal
- Includes goal that all new vehicles purchased be emissions free
- New buildings designed to use no more energy than generated on site. Goal by 2050 is that all buildings generate all power onsite.
