Promote Your School as a Parent Ambassador
Help us help parents. Spread the word about your public school!
In mid-March, current and prospective SFUSD parents will receive notification letters about their school assignments for the 2018–2019 school year. Parents may have questions about their assigned schools, or want to know more about other schools they might consider for their children. Many will reach out to our parent ambassadors for more information.
PPS-SF currently has about 210 volunteer ambassadors representing SFUSD elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as some SFUSD charter schools and preschools. Even so, not every school is represented, so we can't fulfill every request we receive.
Whether your child attends a highly-demanded school or one that typically falls under the radar, please consider joining us to represent your school and share what you know with other parents.
PPS-SF parent ambassadors
- Contact requesting parents by phone or email within a few days of receiving the request.
- Share information about their schools with prospective parents.
- Provide honest feedback about a school’s strengths and how the school meets its challenges.
- Refer difficult questions to school staff, other parents, or back to PPS-SF.
It's not a big commitment. Depending on the number of requests and the number of ambassadors in a school, we may connect an ambassador with up to 3 or 4 parents in a year.
Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco does not post or share the ambassador's contact information with anyone at any time.
