Meet the Staff: Director of Policy, Miranda Martin
Say hello to Miranda Martin, Director of Policy, and infamous live-Tweeter at Board of Education meetings.
Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco is a small but mighty team. We are parents, community leaders, and public school advocates. Our staff represents a wide array of ages, languages, and countries of origin. One thing we share in common: our passion for public education as a foundation of a liveable city for everyone.
Name: Miranda Martin
Title: Policy Director
Why Miranda chooses to do this work:
I took this job because I believe in the mission and work of the organization. I appreciate the role that our San Francisco schools play as hubs of community, where families with different backgrounds and experiences have opportunities to interact and build connections. I also believe that strong partnerships between families and schools are critical to the well-being and success of our students, and of course thriving students are key to the future vitality and well-being of our city (and beyond!)
Fun fact:
When I get the chance I love cross-country skiing - it was a viable transit option where I grew up in Northern Michigan.
