Executive Director Update: Please Join Me at Our Annual General Meeting to Learn About Middle Grades Redesign

Please join me in learning more about upcoming changes to our public middle schools. The event will be Thursday, April 26, from 5:45 pm to 8 pm, at Mission High School.

Each year our organization puts together a large, general meeting on a topic that is current in public education. I am very excited to host my first Annual General Meeting as executive director of PPS-SF, and I am even more excited about this year’s topic: Middle Grades Redesign.

A team of educational leaders, teachers, principals, and district representatives have spent two years thoughtfully examining what is working well in our middle schools across the district to build a proposed plan for Middle Grades Redesign. SFUSD is now ready to roll out some changes to our middle schools so that these best practices and programs can be applied at all middle schools to build equality and equity.

Because we believe that all students deserve access to the highest level quality of programs and curriculum, no matter which school they attend, we are very excited to offer families the opportunity to learn more about changes to middle grades, give some initial feedback, and learn about upcoming opportunities to provide input.

Our meeting will have a presentation from SFUSD representatives and a greeting from SFUSD Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Vincent Matthews. We are inviting community members and families with children at all grade levels to learn more and share input on this important topic.

Light snacks, interpretation, and a kid zone will be provided. This free event is filling up quickly, so please let us know if you will be joining us by registering in advance.

Eventbrite pre-registration.

I look forward to seeing you on April 26 at Mission High School!
