Meet the Staff: Summer Intern Jabriel Andrade
Say hello to Jabriel! Jabriel is providing direct support to the program director of PPS and creatively constructing workshop power point presentations used in our family engagement process.
Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco is a small but mighty team. We are parents, community leaders, and public school advocates. Our staff represents a wide array of ages, languages, and countries of origin. One thing we share in common: our passion for public education as a foundation of a liveable city for everyone.
This week, meet Jabriel Andrade our Summer Intern.
Can you tell us a little bit about your background and experience?
I was born and raised in San Francisco. I currently attend Gonzaga University and I am a Political Science/Journalism double major.
Why did you choose to volunteer with PPS-SF this summer?
Growing up in Visitacion Valley, I’ve seen some of the worst the city has to offer and I wanted to help change that. To me, education is the best way to help struggling communities like the one I grew up in. I was lucky enough to go to a good school and I know many others don’t have the same opportunities, so I want to try my best to help others receive the same opportunities.
What is a fun fact about you? (outside of work):
Outside of work I love to write short stories. I just love telling stories and creating worlds and characters.
