Summer options for San Francisco Children and Youth Continue to Evolve
In-person Camps to Open June 15: Rec and Park Camp Open Registration Begins Saturday, June 6 at 10 AM Online
The Department of Recreation and Parks will be offering three-week summer camp sessions in accordance with the San Francisco Department of Public Health guidance.
Registration will be online.

Make sure you have an online account set up at the SF Rec and Park registration site (activecommunities.com)
If you have an account test your login information prior to 10AM on June 6.
Consult the camp catalog and make a ranked list of camp sessions you are interested in as sometimes camps fill up quickly.camp catalog
If you have previously obtained eligibility for scholarships (ranging from 50%-100% of camp fees) that should be reflected on your account. If you wish to apply for scholarship eligibility, here is the online application. It will take one week to process applications. More information about eligibility is here.
Other Summer Camps Offering In-Person Options
Many programs have now registered through the city’s Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families (DCYF)to offer camps in compliance with the City’s health order.
DCYF has created an interactive map showing all summer camps that have registered and plan to offer camps. Here is the link.
In addition to the Rec and Park camps, here are a few free or low-cost options ($500 or less for a three-week session) found through the DCYF resource. Please note some of these programs may have eligibility requirements and many other camp providers listed through DCYF also offer scholarships to eligible families.
Asian Pacific American Community Center: summer program from June 15-August 7, for students grades 1-8 living in Visitacion Valley
Bay Area Warriors, Inc - Runnin' Red Devils Basketball Camp: for ages 12-17, choice of three sessions.
Bay City Basketball - Bay City Team Camp 2020: for ages 5-17, two sessions.
Buena Vista Child Care - Buena Vista Summer Camp: two sessions, ages 5-17.

Chabad of Cole Valley - Shabbat Club Camp: two sessions, half-days, ages 3-10.
Collective Impact - Magic Zone: two sessions for K-8th graders.
FACES SF - Faces SF Summer of Discovery: a summer-long program for ages 5-10.
Flyaway Productions - GIRLFLY: 4 week, dance-based artist as activist training for low-income teen girls and nonbinary youth.
Glide Foundation - Glide Family, Youth and Childcare: summer-long program for students from K-5th grades.
Indochinese Housing Development Corporation - Tenderloin Achievement Group (TAG): free, summer-long program for all ages.
Ingleside Community Center - I.C.C Art / Tech / Athletic Camp: three sessions, for Kindergarteners through age 17.
Mission Neighborhood Centers - Precita university/ Mission Girls: three sessions, no cost.
Saint Vincent de Paul School - Summer Academy 2020: two sessions, half-day, ages 5-10.
The First Tee of San Francisco - The First Tee of San Francisco: golf camp, two sessions, ages 5-17.
The Village Project - Village Project Summer Camp: two sessions, no cost, ages 5-17.
United Playaz - SOMA Youth Collaborative Summer Program: three sessions, ages 11-17, no cost.
University High School - UHS Summer Running 2020: half-day, ages 14-17, no cost.
Young Performers Theatre - Performance Theatre Workshop: 3 sessions, 10AM-2PM, ages 5-17.
Volunteer, Internship, and Other Opportunities for Teens and Older Youth
SF Rec and Park Greenagers Program: Spaces available until filled for 9th and 10th graders living in SF Districts 8, 9, or 10. Apply here.

Real Options for City Kids (ROCK): Summer Program: Grades 1-8, Free, June 3-30.
Boys and Girls Clubs: Summer Program
Jamestown Community Center: June 8-30, spaces limited.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Summer Institute: grades 5-9, 10 hour, one-week courses.
SF Giants: Junior Giants at Home: 4-week program begins June 8.
Stand-up Comedy Camp: For kids and teens ages 8-17.
YMCA: Virtual Summer Enrichment, morning or afternoon sessions, grades K-5.
Wee Scotty: sewing camps, mostly online but availability of in-person help for individual students.
ACLU Summer Institute: one week program for students ages 15-18.
SFUSD Summer School
There will be online credit recovery options through SFUSD this summer. Talk to your student’s high school counselor for information on how to register.
The Transitional Studies Department of CCSF offers credit recovery options for high-school students free of charge. Courses are available in the subject areas of math, English, science, and history, as well as courses for English Language Learners. For a complete list of classes go to: www.ccsf.edu/creditrecovery.
Summer Classes at City College
Learn more about opportunities for high school students to enroll in summer courses at CCSF by visiting the Dual Enrollment page on the CCSF website. Online enrollment for summer started on May 7, paperwork must be in by June 3, and summer classes begin June 8, 2020.
