Join PPS-SF’s general meeting hosted by Vanessa Marrero and notable key note speakers to hear the 2022 update on all of the work PPS-SF has done and plans to do for the rest of the year. PPS-SF focuses on helping families navigate San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) enrollment and selection process, understanding educational policy and empowering members of our school community.

During the general annual meeting, PPS-SF will cover and draw upon:

  • Our 21 year history and track record of the partnership with SFUSD staff and parents

  • A national network of Parents for Public School chapters which also engage in similar work in serving parents across the nation

  • The belief and approach of building strong partnerships with the district to address pressing issues and foster improving educational outcomes for all students

Annual General Meeting Strategy Focus Areas

  • Strategic Equity Enrollment

    • Learn more about how PPS-SF helps families navigate the San Francisco Unified School District’s student assignment system from Transitional Kindergarten through high school and offers in-person workshops and one-on-one support in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

  • Relationship and Coalition Building

    • Learn about PPS-SF collaborates with SFUSD and other organizations to convene community Round Tables, Dialogue Circles, and Town Halls to  surface issues, diversify input and feedback, and foster shared-decision making.

  • Policy Infrastructure Development

    • Hear about PPS-SF’s local, state, and national educational policies and information for parents/families to increase their knowledge and ability to advocate and effectively engage in spaces such as school board meetings and school governance council’s and in parent/community advisory groups (e.g., Parent Advisory Council, School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Council, etc.)
