SFUSD Transitional Kindergarten Focus Groups
At Parents Public Schools of San Francisco, we work hard to ensure Strategic Equity Enrollment and we partner with SFUSD to work on this goal.
Here is what a parent said just recently about Parents for Public School of San Francisco services:
I was a first-time mom in need of support and education on how to enroll my daughter in SF Public Schools. I found the PPSSF (Parents for Public Schools San Francisco) support group through an email posting at my job and was able to sign up for a workshop to obtain more information. The workshop was extremely informative and full of excellent information and support. From the workshop, I learned how to obtain additional support, which I did.
I reached out to Vanessa to have an individual meeting, where I was able to ask additional questions pertaining to my specific situation. I can’t say enough good things about the new community I am now a part of and the support they have offered to me. The PPSSF group has really helped to decrease my stress and anxiety by providing a community of education and support. Thank you!

As you see, our efforts cannot be made without contribution and feedback from you, our public-school parents.
Right now, SFUSD is considering making changes to the transitional kindergarten (TK) application process, and this is an opportunity to tell them what you think. We urge you to share your feedback so that we can know what you want and better advocate for you.
You can also attend one of the four TK focus groups in March, including one in Spanish and one in Cantonese. PPS-SF will support SFUSD with holding the focal groups on March 6th!
Parents had this to say about SFUSD TK (Transitional Kindergarten) program:
“It is a big shift for the district that families are really excited about having high-quality public school option for TK: child care is so expensive and families will be excited and there will be demand for TK, so the more SFUSD can make it a positive and easy entry into a long-term relationship with SFUSD, the better.”
You can fill out the online TK survey, available in English, Spanish, and Chinese, and will remain open until March 17.
We appreciate your thoughts on Transitional Kindergarten Enrollment!
