Our Vote Makes a Difference
The 2024 election is today!
Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco has been promoting the need for every resident of San Francisco to vote on November 5th.
We attended the SFUSD Board of Education Commissioners debate hosted by the League of Women Voters and shared on our social media platforms what each candidate has to offer the San Francisco Unified School District. Board of Education Commissioners determine so many aspects of our children’s education. Right now, when the district is threatening to close our beloved public schools simply so they can avoid making other budget cuts, electing the right board commissioners can mean the difference between our children thriving in their education journey or facing many challenges in the years to come. These commissioners decide on everything from accessible curriculum to celebrating a diversity of cultural holidays throughout the academic year to matters of expelling students who might even be months away from graduating from high school.
Our vote matters!
Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco will never tell you who to vote for but we are committed to advocating for those whose voices are not represented in positions of authority. Please vote on November 5th to ensure that a diversity of voices has a place at the table-especially locally. To learn more about the candidates and measures on your election ballot this year, we invite you to visit the League of Women Voters website for a non-partisan voting assistance source.
Thank you for adding to our vote to make a difference and promote the fundamental value of education!
