Meet the Staff: Samreen Sethi, Community Engagement Coordinator, AmeriCorps VISTA
Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco is a small but mighty team. We are parents, community leaders, and public school advocates. Our staff represents a wide array of ages, languages, and countries of origin. One thing we share in common: our passion for public education as a foundation of a liveable city for everyone.
Meet our new Americorps VISTA and Community Engagement Coordinator, Samreen Sethi
Originally from So-Cal, and recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Socio-Cultural Anthropology and Political Science. I’m super excited to be joining the wonderful team at PPS-SF and to continue learning and growing with them.
Why I chose to do this work:
I chose to do this work because I sincerely believe in the transformative power of knowledge—within communities, relationships, self—and hope to aid in facilitating the enrollment process for parents by streamlining and making the necessary information more accessible.
Fun fact:
I love cooking and cooked professionally for a few years in LA. It was brief but wonderful.
