Declaración de PPS-SF condenando la violencia Anti-Asiática, 3/17/21

PPS-SF extiende nuestra más profunda simpatía a los seres queridos de las víctimas y a la comunidad Asiática Americana en SF, en Atlanta, y a través de los Estados Unidos que han sido afectados por la violencia reciente. El aumento de la violencia por motivos raciales en San Francisco, el Área de la Bahía y en todo el país es abominable e inaceptable.

Reconocemos que, si bien las experiencias de racismo descarado y prejuicio contra los Norteamericanos de origen Asiático se han acentuado notablemente a través de la pandemia, lamentablemente, estos actos de odio sin fundamento no son nuevos y han persistido durante generaciones. También debemos reconocer que reconocer y condenar la violencia contra un grupo no disminuye la importancia y la necesidad de transformar los sistemas, las prácticas y la violencia racistas que devalúan las vidas y las realidades de los niños y las familias de color. Debemos hacer más y mejor.

Los niños, padres y cuidadores, y los miembros de la comunidad están asustados y frustrados. Juntos, debemos oponernos explícita y valientemente al odio, la intimidación y la violencia, y trabajar en comunidad y solidaridad para enfrentar y poner fin a los comportamientos racistas.

Hemos recopilado algunos recursos para apoyar su comprensión y conversaciones con sus hijos a medida que nos reunimos para reimaginar y defender la seguridad, la solidaridad interracial y la justicia restaurativa.

PPS-SF 谴责反亚裔暴力行为声明

PPS-SF Statement Condemning Anti-Asian Violence, 3/17/2021

PPS-SF extends our deepest sympathy to the loved ones of the victims and to the Asian American community in SF, in Atlanta, and across the United States that have been affected by the recent violence. The increase in racially-motivated violence in San Francisco, the Bay Area, and around the country is abhorrent and unacceptable.

We recognize that while the experiences of brazen racism and prejudice against Asian Americans has been markedly heightened through the pandemic, sadly, these acts of baseless hatred are not new and have persisted for generations. We also must acknowledge that recognizing and condemning the violence against one group does not diminish the importance and need to transform the racist systems, practices and violence that devalue the lives and realities of children and families of color. We must do more and better.

Children, parents and caregivers, and community members are scared and frustrated. Together, we must explicitly and courageously stand against hatred, bullying and violence, and work in community and solidarity to confront and put a stop to racist behaviors.

We have compiled some resources to support your understanding and conversations with your children as we come together to reimagine and stand up for safety, interracial solidarity, and restorative justice.
