Ruth Asawa School of the Arts Application Changes this Year

Applying to high school at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts? Some updates for this year’s enrollment process: January 15, 2021 deadline to submit an application, auditions on February 6, 2021

SFUSD main round enrollment applications are due this year on February 6, 2021, but those applying to Ruth Asawa School of the Arts must submit an online application form directly to the school by January 15, 2020 AND also submit an SFUSD application including Ruth Asawa School of the Arts somewhere on the applicant’s list of schools. Students must apply to just one of 16 arts programs available at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts.

For those who apply by January 15, 2020, an audition assignment will be posted on January 16, 2021 and auditions will take place virtually on February 6, 2021. There may be overflow on February 7, 2021 for some departments.

If a student passes the audition process and has Ruth Asawa SOTA as their first choice, the student will be assigned to Ruth Asawa SOTA through the SFUSD student assignment process. If Ruth Asawa SOTA is listed on a student’s application but is not the first choice, a student may be assigned to a higher choice school if spots are available, even if they pass the audition.

There will not be opportunities for students to reaudition.
