March 17 Town Hall for PK-5 Families: Recap
For those who were unable to attend the online town hall we co-hosted with Second District PTA and SFUSD, you are in luck! We have a recap.
The town hall was meant to be an opportunity to bring together families, community organizations, and district leaders, to surface and answer as many questions as possible about the upcoming changes that will accompany the option for some students to return to in-person learning in SFUSD.
More than 1,000 families attended the event which was also live-streamed on Facebook and included Spanish, Chinese, and ASL interpretation. Over 500 questions were collected in advance and via the Zoom Q & A and Facebook live stream. Our team worked to surface and solicit answers to the most common and salient questions.
Thanks to SFUSD for splicing the video into smaller segments showing questions answered, along with the live responses provided by SFUSD leaders.
Included are questions about schedules, classroom size, safety measures, need for devices, equity challenges, site flexibility, before and after school options, support for English Language Learners and students receiving Special Education Services, and many more! You can view all of the questions and answers here.
A link to the entire town hall is here.
An additional town hall specifically focused on the needs of students receiving special education services was held on March 22, 2021 and can be viewed here.
